In Mission

Sandwich Ministry

Our sandwich ministry has been on hold due to the COVID virus. However, a couple of angels, Ralph and Donna Ainger, have stepped in several times. God bless them for being the hands and feet of Christ!

Every month, a small, but dedicated group of people from several island churches meet on the second Saturday at 10:30AM to make 150 bag lunches which are dispersed to McIntyre Court in Brunswick, next to FaithWorks. It only takes a few hours and we have a chance to get to know our neighbors who appreciate and need a lunch. There are many children in this community and it’s a blessing to give them a meal!

Sparrow’s Nest

Our church supports Sparrow’s Nest by collecting food and other supplies. We have a drop-off in our Narthex and many of the community groups who meet here contribute to this worthwhile mission of helping our local neighbors in need. Right now, Sparrow’s Nest is in need of toilet paper and canned fruit.

Our Journey

Maureen Ahern and Rev. Andy Chambers—returned safely after going
to the Sunshine Academy in Kenya. They were both quarantined after returning.
One of the projects they initiated while there was to set up sewing machines
(treadle since there is no electricity) for the ladies in the community
to begin making school uniforms. All children in Kenya are required to have uniforms.
